We have sequenced and analyzed the genome of the previously unknown clinical isolate Bacillus obstructivus VT-16-70, gram-negative, rod-shaped, aerobic bacteria that was isolated from the lungs of a patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Kluyvera intestini GT-16
Bacillus obstructivus VT-16-70 is a previously unknown bacterium. The genetic analyses of Bacillus obstructivus VT-16-70 identified a significant number of antibiotic resistance genes, as well as genes of multidrug resistance efflux pumps.
The genome also contains such virulence factors as hemolysins, flagellar, and chemotaxis proteins, proteases and peptidases .
